The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Philippe Lazzarini, has stated that Israel has destroyed 10 UNRWA buildings in Gaza City over a four-day period, according to Anadolu Agency. The buildings, which included seven schools and two clinics, were being used as shelters for thousands of displaced Palestinians.

Lazzarini emphasized that no place in Gaza is safe, noting the intensification of airstrikes and the continuous displacement of people. Due to the worsening conditions, UNRWA has been forced to suspend healthcare services at the Al-Shati refugee camp, and its water and sanitation services are operating at only half capacity.

The article also notes that Israel’s ongoing offensive to occupy Gaza City has involved targeting high-rise buildings, resulting in the destruction of 1,600 towers and residential buildings since August 11, displacing over 100,000 Palestinians. The war has killed nearly 65,000 Palestinians since October 2023.
