Karbala Holy Shrines Adorned for Birth Anniversaries of Prophet and Imam al-Sadiq
……………
The holy shrines of Imam Hussein and his brother al-Abbas (peace be upon them) in Holy Karbala have been decorated with flowers and festive ornaments to mark the joint birth anniversaries of Prophet Muhammad and his grandson, Imam Jaafar al-Sadiq (peace be upon them). The celebrations, observed on the 17th of Rabi al-Awwal, drew large numbers of visitors who expressed joy at what they described as a blessed occasion.
Floral arrangements and decorative lights were placed throughout the courtyards of the shrines, with natural roses adorning the grave of Imam Hussein. Pilgrims attending the ceremonies said the commemoration symbolizes hope, renewal, and the enduring values of the Prophet and his family.
Religious officials confirmed that a series of cultural and spiritual events will take place at the shrines in Karbala, alongside activities at other holy sites in Iraq, Syria, Iran, and Shi’a communities worldwide. Organizers described the commemorations as an opportunity to highlight the Prophet’s message of compassion and justice.
