Bronx Muslim Center to Become New York’s Largest Mosque

The Bronx Muslim Center in the Van Nest neighborhood is set to become the largest mosque in New York State.

According to a report by News 12, the new four-story building will span 32,000 square feet, making it ten times larger than the current facility. The expanded space will include dedicated prayer halls, community gathering areas, classrooms, and meeting rooms.

Yahya Obeid, the center’s communications officer, stated that the project aims to accommodate the growing Muslim population in the Bronx and provide a safe, educational environment for youth.

The center also plans to host Arabic language courses and a weekend school program as part of its expanded services.

Construction is expected to be completed, and the new mosque inaugurated by the end of 2026.
