Indonesia Strengthens Ties with Turkey to Promote Modest Fashion Globally

Indonesia is expanding its presence in the modest fashion sector through strategic partnerships with Turkey, a global hub for textiles and ready-to-wear clothing, aiming to boost exports and access international markets.

Seven Indonesian designers participated in the Istanbul Fashion Fair from August 20–22, accompanied by Deputy Governor of Indonesia’s Central Bank, Destri Damayanti, who highlighted the importance of such events for building designers’ confidence and global competitiveness.

Ali Karizma of the Indonesian Fashion Chamber Advisory Council noted that Istanbul serves as a gateway to European markets, with the fair helping Indonesian designers establish connections with partners from Turkey, the Middle East, and Europe.

The event also featured the Indonesia International Modest Fashion Festival, providing additional exposure for Indonesian designs and supporting the country’s ambition to develop a global modest fashion brand.
