US CENTCOM: Senior ISIS member killed in northern Syria

US Central Command announced on Friday that its forces killed a senior ISIS member and key financier during a raid in Atimah, northern Syria, on August 19, Anadolu Agency reported. The targeted individual maintained connections across the ISIS network in the region and posed a direct threat to US and Coalition forces as well as the new Syrian government.

Admiral Brad Cooper, CENTCOM Commander, stated, “We will persistently pursue ISIS terrorists across the region with unwavering resolve. Alongside our partners and allies, CENTCOM is committed to ensuring the enduring defeat of ISIS and safeguarding the U.S. homeland.”
