The Canadian city of Regina, capital of Saskatchewan, hosted its first Halal Food Festival, a one-day event aimed at fostering cultural understanding and dialogue around Islam. The festival took place at the Dar al-Falah Islamic Centre, where about ten local volunteers helped organize activities. Visitors were introduced to a variety of halal foods, traditional clothing, and cultural exhibits, with a dedicated booth offering lessons in Quran recitation.

Asif Bulbulia, the centre’s youth and community engagement coordinator, said the festival sought to present Islam in a way that resonates with the local community while preserving traditional values. Organizers emphasized that the event aimed to strengthen intercultural connections and encourage meaningful engagement across Regina’s diverse population.
