Spanish Researchers Report Promising Baldness Treatment
———————————
Spanish scientists have unveiled a promising new baldness therapy combining stem cells and adenosine triphosphate (ATP), Khaama Press reported. The technique, tested successfully on mice, may offer a future treatment for androgenetic alopecia, the most common form of hair loss in men and women.
The method involves injecting a mixture of stem cells derived from fatty tissue and ATP into specific areas on the backs of male and female mice. After a second injection three days later, researchers observed significant hair regrowth in all subjects. Male mice showed complete or partial hair restoration, while almost all female mice experienced strong or full regrowth, outcomes described as “remarkable” by the research team.
Current hair loss treatments, including hormone therapies, vasodilators, and transplants, provide limited results. This stem cell therapy could offer a more natural, regenerative approach by reactivating dormant hair follicles. While human trials have yet to begin, experts consider this discovery a significant step toward more effective and lasting hair loss treatments.
