Grand Ayatullah Sistani Issues Guidance to Arbaeen Pilgrims
———————————
Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani has urged Arbaeen pilgrims to prioritize timely prayer, sincere devotion, and modest behavior during their pilgrimage, Iqna.ir reported. Highlighting these as essential for spiritual acceptance and reward, he emphasized the importance of performing prayers promptly and with heartfelt sincerity.

Grand Ayatollah Sistani reminded pilgrims that the intercession of Ahl al-Bayt is not granted to those who belittle prayer. He referenced a narration from the Karbala battlefield, where Imam Hussein praised a companion who reminded him of prayer time.

He also called for modest dress and conduct, especially among women, urging avoidance of tight clothing, improper mingling, and excessive adornment to preserve the sanctity of the pilgrimage.

Arbaeen, the world’s largest religious gathering, draws over 22 million Shia Muslims as well as people of other faiths annually who walk on various routs toward Karbala to commemorate Imam Hussein’s (peace be upon him) martyrdom. Volunteers along the route provide free food, shelter, and medical aid.
