Rights Group Reports Ongoing Attacks on Shiite Residents in Sayyida Zainab Area

Armed groups in the Sayyida Zainab district and the nearby town of Al-Bahdaliyah in Syria are reportedly continuing daily assaults against Shiite residents, according to the Center for Documentation of Violations Against Shiites.

The organization said that on Sunday night, a grenade was thrown near the main street in Sayyida Zainab, causing panic among locals.

Armed factions linked to what is known as the “Public Security” in Al-Bahdaliyah were also accused of firing live ammunition at homes and using stun grenades, in violation of humanitarian laws.

The center urged international organizations, including the United Nations, to pressure local authorities to halt these repeated attacks.
