At least 27 Palestinians were killed on Sunday while attempting to access food aid in Gaza, according to Palestinian officials, in a situation reported by The Guardian. Witnesses claimed Israeli forces opened fire on crowds near a distribution site operated by the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). The organization maintains it uses only pepper spray or warning shots to manage crowds.

In total, Gaza’s health ministry said 119 people were killed in the last 24 hours due to Israeli strikes and shootings, including at least six who died from starvation or malnutrition. Humanitarian agencies say famine is worsening due to restrictions on aid entry, with 175 people—93 of them children—now confirmed dead from hunger-related causes.

An Israeli airstrike also targeted the Palestinian Red Crescent’s Khan Younis headquarters, killing one staff member. Another strike hit a school sheltering displaced civilians. Meanwhile, Israeli minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s visit to al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem drew regional condemnation, including from Jordan, which called it a “provocation.”

As Israel’s military operations continue, the death toll in Gaza has exceeded 60,800, according to Palestinian sources. The humanitarian crisis remains critical.
