Daesh Militants Kill Abducted Balochistan Schoolboy
…………………
Senior Balochistan officials have confirmed that Daesh militants abducted and killed 11-year-old Muhammad Musawir Khan Kakar, whose kidnapping last November sparked weeks of protests in Quetta, media outlets reported. Kakar, a third-grade student from a prominent gold-trading family, was taken by unidentified gunmen while on his way to school on November 15, 2024. His family never received a ransom demand during the initial weeks.
Quetta Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat said the militants later demanded Rs3 billion ($10.58 million) while operating from abroad. He described the recovery effort as one of the province’s largest, involving police, intelligence agencies, and the Frontier Corps.
More than 1,000 CCTV clips were reviewed and thousands of properties searched. Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti vowed to bring those responsible to justice, saying the entire state machinery had been mobilized. The boy’s body was recovered, confirmed through DNA testing, and returned to his family for burial.
