“Shia of Jammu and Kashmir” Holds a Preparatory Gathering in Srinagar to Welcome the Month of Muharram
In an atmosphere filled with the spiritual essence of Karbala and the fragrance of loyalty to Hussain (peace be upon him), the “Shia of Jammu and Kashmir” association held an extensive regional meeting in the capital, Srinagar, in preparation for the holy month of Muharram, the month of mourning, martyrdom, and eternal allegiance.
The meeting, held at Dar Al-Jawad in the Qamarwari area, was attended by religious and organizational figures from across the city. The attendees discussed mechanisms for organizing mourning processions and coordinating gatherings, ensuring the genuine Hussaini spirit is embodied in every detail of the commemoration.
One of the key resolutions made during the meeting was the commitment to the “Faka Shakni” fast until 2 PM during the “Ziyarat of the Honored Dead” procession, with the provision of water limited to designated stations, reinforcing the symbolism of Hussaini thirst and uncompromising loyalty.
The association also announced the activation of blood donation camps and the updating of donor records to prepare for any emergencies, a step reflecting the practical meaning of Karbala, where life is offered rather than taken.
In terms of organization, strict regulations were imposed to manage the movement of women within specified points of the procession to preserve the privacy of the gatherings and ensure the safety of participants. Additionally, the association has adopted electronic registration for Hussaini gatherings through a special form to distribute times and ensure the smooth movement of processions without congestion.
The meeting concluded with an emotional appeal stating: “This is the day of Hussain (peace be upon him). There is no place for politics, nor time for showmanship. Let every voice, every tear, every step, and every drop of water be in the name of Hussain, for Hussain, and a sacrifice for Hussain.”
