Syrian Families Begin Evacuation from PKK/YPG-Controlled Al-Hol Camp to Northwest Syria

The first group of Syrian families started evacuating early Monday from the PKK/YPG-controlled Al-Hol Camp in northeastern Syria to the country’s northwest, Anadolu Agency reported. The initial transfer involved 176 individuals from 43 families, including many women and children, as part of ongoing security and humanitarian efforts.
Families were taken to Faiha Stadium in al-Bab for health checks, medical aid, and registration before reunification with relatives. Muhammad Kenco of the Stability Support Unit told Anadolu this was the first organized evacuation from Al-Hol to Aleppo under the new administration. Previously, some families had been moved, but this marks the beginning of systematic transfers.
The convoy consisted of 30 trucks carrying belongings, four buses for the evacuees, and five ambulances to handle emergencies. The evacuees will be relocated to new settlements aimed at social integration. The camp, established in 2003 in Hasakah province, houses civilians fleeing ISIS clashes and terror group members. International concerns persist over security, abuse, and living conditions under PKK/YPG control.
