Balochistan Gripped by Crippling Insecurity, Says Senior Cleric

Allama Maqsood Ali Domki, a prominent cleric and central leader of Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Pakistan, has issued a dire warning that the deteriorating law and order situation has “completely paralyzed” life in Balochistan, Shiite News reported.

He stated that bomb blasts, terrorism, and killings have become routine, causing immense suffering and stripping citizens of peace.

Domki criticized the government’s “high-sounding claims,” asserting that state control in the province has “completely failed.” He highlighted concerns over armed groups reportedly occupying main roads and conducting daily searches. Domki also alleged that Balochistan’s residents pay billions to security agencies yet face constant unrest, explosions, and terrorism, accusing state institutions of making claims without practical peace efforts. He cited instances of coal mine owners allegedly paying both security forces and the BLA to operate.

Condemning the lack of development, including proper highways, Domki urged the government to engage in “serious negotiations” and “reconciliation” with the discontented Baloch population to address the worsening situation.
