In a remote village of Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, 16-year-old Mavish Arif, a deaf-mute student, has achieved an extraordinary spiritual milestone: handwriting the entire Holy Quran over nine months, driven solely by faith and quiet determination, Muslim Mirror reported.
Born without hearing or speech, Mavish undertook the sacred task independently, without formal guidance, in her family’s modest home in Batara Gawalo.
Her achievement has resonated deeply in the Bhalesa mountains, where her village celebrates her as a symbol of devotion. Educators at her school, Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Gandoh, called her work “unprecedented,” with principal Ajeet Singh noting, “Her actions speak louder than words—she’s redefined perseverance.”
The feat highlights faith as a transformative force in adversity. Mavish’s family shared how she transcribed verses for hours daily, her silent world anchored in spiritual discipline. Villagers and scholars alike see her as a beacon for youth in regions with limited resources.
