The Holy Quran Museum in Makkah has unveiled the world’s largest and rarest copies of the Quran as part of a permanent exhibition in the Hira Cultural District, adjacent to Jabal al-Nour—the mountain where the Quran’s first verses were revealed, Iqna reported. Opened during Ramadan and managed by Samaya, the museum offers a unique blend of cultural, educational, and spiritual experiences, attracting global visitors.
The exhibition features meticulously preserved manuscripts, highlighting the evolution of Quranic calligraphy over centuries. Its centerpiece is the largest Quran ever produced, displayed in a dedicated hall alongside ancient copies that trace the scripture’s historical development. Advanced display technologies enhance the immersive experience, with educational models including a replica of the Cave of Hira, where the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure family) received the first revelations.
Located at the foot of Jabal al-Nour, the museum complements Makkah’s spiritual heritage, offering interactive exhibits and historical insights. Its launch aligns with broader initiatives, such as Quran donation campaigns and Hajj-season cultural programs, reinforcing Makkah’s status as a hub for Islamic learning and global dialogue.
