Millions mark Day of Arafah at Imam Hussein Holy Shrine in Holy Karbala
Millions of Shia pilgrims gathered on Friday in the holy city of Karbala to commemorate the Day of Arafah at the sacred shrines of Imam Hussain and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas, peace be upon them.
From early morning, worshippers filled the streets and alleys of Holy Karbala, as the shrine authorities mobilized full efforts to welcome the influx and ensure smooth implementation of security and service plans.
Pilgrims from across the world, including large groups from Iran, crossed into Iraq to take part in the spiritual ceremonies and prepare for Eid al-Adha.
Believers devoted themselves to reading the blessed Du’a of Arafah and the Ziyara of Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, traditionally recommended for this holy day.
The revival of this significant occasion in Holy Karbala reaffirms the deep devotion of the followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, and highlights the city’s enduring role as a spiritual center for millions of people.
