Grand Mosque of Kufa welcomes nearly two million visitors during Holy Ramadan

The Grand Mosque of Kufa hosted a large influx of visitors during the holy month of Ramadan. The mosque’s administration announced that from February 28 to March 28, 2025, a total of 1,753,267 visitors entered the mosque, according to data collected using artificial intelligence technology.

According to the statistics released by the administration, 898,165 of the visitors were men, while 764,102 were women, reflecting the significant turnout at this revered Islamic site in Iraq.

Believers are keen to visit the mosque during Ramadan due to its historical and religious significance. The mosque served as the headquarters of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), and visitors also come to pay respects at the shrine of Muslim ibn Aqil (peace be upon him) and the martyrs of the Battle of Karbala buried there.

The mosque administration continues to provide services to visitors, organizing entry and exit procedures and ensuring a conducive environment for prayers and worship, with strict measures in place to facilitate movement during holy months.
