Tesla to Launch Robotaxi and Humanoid Robot Production in 2025
Elon Musk announced that Tesla plans to introduce robotaxi services in California and other U.S. markets later this year, featuring “unsupervised” full-self-driving cars available as a paid service in Austin, Texas, by June, Anadolu Agency reported.
During an earnings call, Musk emphasized the need for safer driving practices, citing concerns over manual driving distractions.
Tesla’s full self-driving system is advancing rapidly, with the aim of surpassing human driver safety. The company is set to begin mass production of its “Cybercab,” designed specifically for robotaxi use, in 2026.
Additionally, Musk revealed that production of Tesla’s humanoid robot, Optimus, will commence in 2025, with capabilities such as playing the piano. Despite a significant drop in net income, Tesla’s revenue increased slightly, and investor focus remains on the development of Optimus and its autonomous driving technology. Tesla aims to produce several thousand Optimus robots in 2025.
