Pakistani Climber Raises Hussaini Flag on World’s Second Highest Peak

Pakistani Shia mountaineer Muhammad Ali Sadpara has proudly raised the red flag of Imam al-Hussein (peace be upon him) at the summit of K2, the second highest mountain in the world, achieving this feat without the use of oxygen tanks.

This remarkable ascent coincides with the upcoming Arbaeen commemoration of Imam al-Hussein (peace be upon him), marking a significant milestone in Sadpara’s climbing career.

According to reports followed by the Shia Waves Agency, Sadpara has urged those making the pilgrimage to Karbala for Arbaeen to remember him in their prayers and steps toward the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussein, peace be upon him.

K2, located between China, India, and Pakistan, stands at approximately 8,611 meters, making it the second highest mountain in the world after Mount Everest and one of the most challenging to climb due to its rugged terrain and steep slopes.

Media reports indicate that such sporting events and the raising of the Hussaini flag take place annually during the Arbaeen pilgrimage in Karbala.

Various activities are organized by Shia athletes during this occasion, ranging from raising the flag on the highest peaks to paragliding and diving into the depths of the seas, all aimed at drawing attention to the legacy of the martyrdom of Imam al-Hussein (peace be upon him) and promoting awareness of his humanitarian cause.
