UK man runs 10,000 miles across Africa in 352 days to raise funds for homeless

Runner Russ Cook completed on Sunday his year-long journey to run the length of Africa, reaching the continent’s northernmost point in Tunisia, the Associated Press reported.

Despite facing challenges such as theft, injury, and visa problems, the 27-year-old endurance athlete from Worthing, England, ran over 16,000 kilometers across 16 countries in 352 days, the article said.

Cook, also known as Hardest Geezer, raised over 690,000 pounds for charities supporting homeless youth and displaced people.

Cook had previously run about 3,000 kilometers (2,000 miles) from Istanbul to Worthing in 68 days.
