More than 2.5M pilgrims commemorate martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hadi
The Holy Samarra Operationas Command announced on Tuesday the success of the security plan for the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ali al-Hadi, peace be upon him, in the holy city of Samarra.
Lieutenant General Ali Muthgel al-Maliki, said: “The security plan was successful, with nearly 2,567,000 pilgrims.”
He explained that “the Samarra Operations Command took several measures to welcome the millions of visitors who came to the shrines of the Imams al-Askari and Muhammad (PBUH) and the shrine of Sheikh Ibrahim bin Malik al-Ashtar (may God be pleased with him) on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ali al-Hadi (PBUH).”
Al-Maliki added that “The security plan included providing protection for the visitors along the transportation route within the area of responsibility by the security units operating there, amid ongoing preemptive operations, as well as monitoring border areas to prevent any terrorist infiltration.”
He continued that “the other plan included providing services to the visitors in cooperation with the local government of Salah al-Din Governorate and the local governments of the districts within the area of responsibility.”
It should be mentioned that more than 2.5M pilgrims commemorated the painful martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali al-Hadi, peace be upon him, in Holy Samarra.
