Two Dutch teenage brothers, aged 15 and 17, were found dead in their hotel room in Istanbul’s Fatih district on Friday, Arab News reported. Their father, 57, was hospitalized in shock. The family had been vacationing in Turkey and reportedly dined in the tourist area of Taksim, though the father did not eat.

Police and paramedics arrived at the hotel after a hotel employee heard the father calling for help. Upon entering the room, they found the two boys deceased—one in bed and the other on the floor. The father was taken to hospital for treatment.

Authorities have launched an investigation, with initial suspicion focusing on a possible link to the restaurant meal the boys had eaten earlier. The incident occurred near Istanbul’s Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar, popular tourist sites. Officials are working to determine the cause of death as the investigation continues.
