Grand Ayatollah Shirazi’s Representative Meets with Leader of Shiites in Turkey

Hujjat al-Islam Sheikh Jalal Ma’ash, representing the religious authority of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Hosseini Shirazi, visited Istanbul along with the director of the Al-Zahra network and representatives from Imam Hussein Media Group (peace be upon him), as well as the Zainabiyah Institute (Shiites in Turkey).

During this meeting, attended by Sheikh Salah al-Din Ozgunduz, the leader of Shiites in Turkey, discussions were held about the activities of Shiite communities in Istanbul and other parts of the country.

In this gathering, which exemplified the close and cordial relations among Shiite religious leaders across different countries, Sheikh Jalal Ma’ash presented the sacred flag of the Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) Shrine to the leader of Shiites in Turkey.

This symbolic gesture not only expressed reverence for the esteemed position of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) but also has the potential to strengthen spiritual connections among Shiite communities worldwide.

Following the meeting, Sheikh Salah al-Din Ozgunduz presented a beautifully crafted plaque inscribed with the name of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), created by one of Turkey’s most renowned calligraphers, to the representative of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi.

This exchange of gifts reflects mutual respect and highlights shared religious and cultural values among Shiites in various countries, effectively leading to honouring of the Divine rituals.

The meeting and the exchange of gifts also underscore the extensive efforts of Shiites in Turkey to strengthen their identity and the culture of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in the country.

Undoubtedly, such communications and collaborations can contribute to the consolidation of unity and solidarity among Shiite communities throughout the Islamic world.
