Turkish security forces detained 72 asylum seekers near the Greek border in Edirne, including people from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Syria who were trying to travel to Greece, Khaama Press reported.

According to the news agency, Afghan migrants have been traveling to Turkey in hopes of reaching Europe since the Taliban took control in Afghanistan.

The article highlights that Afghan refugees in neighboring countries face dire humanitarian conditions, including overcrowded camps and lack of basic necessities, and upon return to Afghanistan, they encounter persecution under the Taliban regime.

It calls on the international community to prioritize efforts to address the urgent needs of Afghan refugees and ensure their fundamental rights are upheld.
