Drone Attack on Hospital in Sudan’s Darfur Kills At Least Nine

At least nine people were killed and 20 others injured in a drone strike on the Saudi hospital in el-Fasher, the last operational healthcare facility in the city, Al Jazeera reported yesterday.

The attack, which occurred on Saturday, has been attributed to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), who reportedly fired four rocket-propelled grenades at the hospital.

The Federal Ministry of Health condemned the assault, which has forced the hospital to suspend medical services amid ongoing conflict in the region. Fighting between the Sudanese army and RSF has persisted in el-Fasher since May 10, disrupting humanitarian efforts by the United Nations and other aid organizations.

This incident follows a recent airstrike in Kabkabiya, northern Darfur, where over 100 civilians, including women and children, were killed. The escalating violence in Darfur raises urgent concerns for civilian safety and access to medical care in the region.
