The 14th edition of the Qatar Halal Festival 2026 is underway at the Katara Cultural Village Foundation in Doha, drawing breeders, livestock owners, and enthusiasts from across Qatar and the wider region.
According to the Qatari News Agency, the festival runs until February 16 and highlights the quality of local livestock farming while fostering competitive spirit, particularly in the Arabian and Awaridh sheep categories.
In the Arabian sheep competition, Rashid Hassan Al Eyadi Al Hajri secured first place in the production round for the five best yearlings. He was followed by Hamad Bakhit Al Tuwaijir, Abdullah Saleh Al Kubaisi, Thallab Jlaimeed Al Hajri, and Abdullah Mubarak Al Manaai. The Awaridh category also featured strong competition, with Abdullah Ghanim Al Dosari taking first place, alongside several prize-winning participants from Saudi Arabia.
Beyond competitive events, the festival aims to support local farmers, develop the livestock sector, and preserve Qatar’s national heritage. The program also includes an artistic component, with five visual artists creating live works inspired by halal livestock farming and the Qatari environment, highlighting the cultural connection between Qatari society, its traditions, and animal husbandry.
The festival continues to serve as a platform for promoting agricultural excellence while celebrating Qatar’s cultural identity.
