Israeli Attacks Kill Five Palestinians in Gaza, Including Child, Amid Continued Ceasefire Tensions

Israeli military attacks across the Gaza Strip have killed at least five Palestinians, including a child, according to Palestinian health officials, as violence continues despite the ongoing ceasefire framework.

The latest attacks were reported in several areas, including al-Maghazi refugee camp, al-Bureij refugee camp, Deir al-Balah, and Gaza City. Palestinian medical sources said a nine-year-old girl, Tala Abu Matar, was killed by Israeli gunfire near a displaced people’s encampment east of al-Bureij in central Gaza.

In Gaza City, an Israeli airstrike on a metal workshop in the Sabra area killed four Palestinians, according to local health officials. Witnesses reported that the site was struck by multiple missiles, while the Israeli military said it had targeted what it described as militant infrastructure.

Additional strikes were also reported in other parts of the Strip, including areas near Deir al-Balah, where Israeli aircraft carried out attacks. Palestinian authorities said the incidents added to the continuing casualties recorded since the ceasefire announced in October 2025.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, reported Palestinian casualties since the ceasefire began have exceeded 1,000 deaths, with thousands more injured. The United Nations has also reported continued civilian risks in Gaza due to military activity, displacement, and limited access to essential services.

The latest violence comes as international efforts continue to address Gaza’s humanitarian crisis and recovery needs, with the European Union and partner countries recently announcing a major funding initiative aimed at reconstruction and restoring essential infrastructure.
