Nour Islam Mosque Launches Outreach Initiative to Introduce Islam in Peru
———————————–
The Nour Islam Mosque in Peru has launched a public outreach initiative aimed at raising awareness among Peruvian citizens about the teachings and realities of Islam.
According to Muslims Around the World, the programme includes direct dialogue with members of the public, answers to questions about Islam, and the distribution of reliable educational materials. Organizers said the initiative is intended to strengthen mutual understanding and reduce misconceptions and prejudice toward Muslims.
The mosque said many public perceptions of Islam are shaped by incomplete information and widespread stereotypes. For this reason, it decided to organize a field-based programme that allows people to learn about Islamic teachings through direct contact with Muslims.
As part of the initiative, visitors received access to authentic resources, including translations of the Quran, books and brochures introducing Islam. Organizers said the goal is to provide accurate information and help people form a better-informed understanding of the religion.
A key part of the programme was face-to-face dialogue between mosque members and citizens. Participants asked questions about Islam, Islamic culture and Muslim life, while organizers highlighted values such as mercy, justice and peaceful coexistence.
Officials at the mosque said direct engagement with Muslims can have a deeper impact than scattered information circulated on social media. They added that the initiative goes beyond distributing written materials by emphasizing listening, discussion and mutual respect.
The programme is part of the Nour Islam Mosque’s ongoing cultural and social activities. Mosque representatives said promoting dialogue and mutual understanding remains one of the initiative’s main objectives.
