At the 43rd General Conference of UNESCO, currently taking place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has formally recognized the two major Islamic festivals — Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.

According to Shia Waves Agency, citing the official UN website, the decision reflects global respect for cultural and spiritual heritage and marks a symbolic step toward promoting unity and international solidarity.
