Israeli Strikes Kill 33 in Gaza as Both Sides Accuse Each Other of Truce Violations

At least 33 people were killed in a series of Israeli air strikes across Gaza on Sunday, AFP reported, as Israel and Hamas exchanged blame over the collapse of a ceasefire. Gaza’s civil defense agency said the dead included women and children, with multiple casualties recorded in the central towns of Zuwaida and Nuseirat.

Six people were killed when a strike hit a group of civilians in Zuwaida, while another six died in separate attacks near Nuseirat. Additional strikes killed two people, including a journalist, and injured several others in the same region. Further fatalities were reported in Khan Yunis and Jabalia.

The Israeli military said it was verifying reports of civilian deaths and later confirmed fresh strikes on Hamas targets. Israel also closed Gaza’s border crossings to humanitarian convoys, accusing Hamas of violating the truce agreement.
