WFP Warns Gaza Families Facing “Starvation, Not Just Hunger”
…………….

The World Food Programme (WFP) has warned of a severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, saying malnutrition has exceeded emergency thresholds and describing the situation as a “silent killer.”

In a statement issued Wednesday, the agency stressed that families in the enclave are not only enduring hunger but are at risk of dying from starvation, urging immediate safe access for humanitarian aid.

The warning comes as Israel’s ongoing military offensive in Gaza, launched on October 7, 2023, has compounded the crisis through widespread destruction, displacement, and severe restrictions on food supplies.

According to local authorities, more than 62,000 Palestinians have been killed, over 156,000 injured, and thousands remain missing. Meanwhile, at least 269 people, including 112 children, have already died from famine-related causes.
