Acute malnutrition among children hits record high in Gaza
—————————-
In Gaza, the hunger crisis is worsening, with acute malnutrition among children reaching its highest levels, UN website reported. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that in July 2025, nearly 12,000 children under five were identified as acutely malnourished, and over 2,500 of those were suffering from a severe, life-threatening form of the condition.

The malnutrition prevention program has largely collapsed due to a severe shortage of supplies. The article also notes a worsening shelter crisis, as no shelter materials have entered Gaza since March 2025, and millions of items are stuck in neighboring countries awaiting approval for entry.

Humanitarian aid efforts are being hampered by ongoing bombardment, insecurity, and significant delays in approved missions. The UN and its partners are calling for predictable and unimpeded humanitarian access to prevent further loss of life.
