CAIR Condemns Alleged Israeli Settler Takeover of Ibrahimi Mosque in West Bank
——————————–
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S., has condemned the reported takeover of the Ibrahimi Mosque in the occupied West Bank by illegal Israeli settlers, the organization’s website reported.

This condemnation follows Israeli media reports suggesting that Israeli authorities intend to transfer administrative authority over the historic mosque from the Islamic Waqf and the Palestinian Hebron Municipality to a “settler administrative council.”

CAIR has denounced this move as a “blatant act of religious and cultural appropriation,” asserting that it violates international law and constitutes an attack on the faith of Muslims worldwide. The organization has called upon the international community, particularly Muslim nations, to take immediate action. CAIR urges international bodies to prevent further appropriation of Islamic holy sites and to hold the Israeli government accountable for what it describes as ongoing violations of religious freedom and human dignity.
