France to Airdrop 40 Tons of Aid into Gaza, Calls for Land Access Reopening

France has announced plans to air-drop 40 tons of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, commencing this Friday, Anadolu Agency reported. The initiative will involve four flights, each delivering 10 tons of food, in close collaboration with Jordanian authorities.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot stated that while air deliveries are “useful,” they are “not sufficient” to address the critical humanitarian situation. He highlighted that 52 metric tons of French aid cargo remain blocked near the Gaza Strip, underscoring the urgent need for Israeli authorities to reopen land access to the besieged enclave.

Barrot emphasized the severe suffering of the civilian population in Gaza and stressed the necessity for immediate land access to facilitate the continuous flow of aid. He also reaffirmed France’s commitment, alongside other international partners, to revive a political path towards a two-state solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
