Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister called for the universal recognition of Palestine and its full United Nations membership during a high-level UN conference on the Middle East peace process, Arab News reported. Speaking at the summit co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France, he emphasized the urgent need for an immediate, unconditional ceasefire in Gaza and highlighted the humanitarian crisis there.
The conference brought together international stakeholders to discuss security, humanitarian aid, reconstruction, and the two-state solution. The Pakistani minister welcomed France’s upcoming formal recognition of Palestine and encouraged other nations to follow suit. He called for full humanitarian access in Palestinian territories and accountability for war crimes.
Pakistan also expressed readiness to support Palestine with technical assistance in public administration, health, and education. The minister stressed that ending the occupation and granting Palestine full UN membership are essential steps toward lasting peace in the region.
