The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held an emergency meeting today to address Israel’s ongoing attacks on Palestinians, Anadolu Agency reported. In a statement released Monday, the Jeddah-based organization said the meeting, involving permanent representatives, will focus on the continued Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and the targeting of holy sites in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly the Ibrahimi Mosque in Al-Khalil (Hebron).

The OIC emphasized that the meeting comes amid an unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip caused by what it described as ongoing acts of genocide, starvation, and displacement committed by the Israeli occupation, alongside escalating attacks on places of worship.

Separately, Palestine has called for an urgent Arab League meeting on Tuesday at the level of permanent delegates to discuss the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. According to the official news agency Wafa, Muhannad Al-Aklouk, Palestine’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League, urged participants to address the ongoing Israeli violations against Palestinians and their holy sites in the occupied West Bank.

The Arab League later confirmed it will hold an emergency Council meeting on Tuesday to discuss the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, though no further details were provided.

The Gaza Health Ministry reported that at least 18 Palestinians have died from starvation in the past 24 hours, highlighting the deepening humanitarian disaster as relentless bombardment and deprivation push civilians to the brink.
