One in Ten Children Treated at UNRWA Clinics in Gaza Are Malnourished, UN Agency Reports

According to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), approximately 10% of children screened in their clinics in Gaza are suffering from malnutrition, Arab News reported.

UNRWA’s Director of Communications, Juliette Touma, stated during a press briefing in Geneva via video link from Amman, Jordan, that malnutrition rates are rising, particularly following the tightening of the Gaza siege over four months ago, starting March 2.

The agency’s health teams continue to monitor the worsening nutritional status among children amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.
