Over 17,000 Children Killed in Gaza Since October, Health Ministry Reports
…………………..
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported the deaths of 17,121 children since the outbreak of the Israeli military campaign on October 7, 2023. The staggering toll, confirmed in an official report released Monday, represents one of the deadliest impacts on children in recent conflicts.
According to the ministry, the victims range in age from newborns to 17 years old. Each case has been carefully documented, including full identification details and national ID numbers, as part of an extensive civilian casualty database.
The report also states that 9,126 women have been killed during the same period, including 4,137 aged over 60. In total, 55,998 people have died in Gaza since the start of the war.
Meanwhile, the UN Secretary-General’s spokesperson described the situation as “catastrophic,” citing severe violations of international humanitarian law. Humanitarian operations are near collapse, with fuel shortages crippling water supplies and aid distribution across the besieged enclave.
