Over 40% of Kidney Patients Lose Life in Gaza Following Destruction of Major Dialysis Center

Palestinian medical officials in the Gaza Strip reported on Sunday that almost half of the patients suffering from kidney failure have died since October 2023, Arab News reported. This tragic loss is attributed to ongoing Israeli military operations and severe restrictions on humanitarian and medical supplies.

According to the source, Israeli attacks on hospitals and medical facilities have prevented 41 percent of kidney patients from receiving essential dialysis treatment, leading to their deaths.

On Saturday, Israeli forces destroyed the Noura Al-Kaabi Dialysis Center in northern Gaza, one of the few specialized centers that served 160 kidney patients. Video footage shows Israeli military excavators completely demolishing the facility, which had sustained partial damage earlier during the conflict but was still standing amid the heavily damaged area of Beit Lahiya.

A Palestinian medical source described the destruction of the center as a devastating blow to Gaza’s healthcare system, warning of severe consequences for the remaining kidney patients.
