Gaza Enters First Stage of Famine Amid Ongoing Israeli Blockade

The Gaza Strip has officially entered the first phase of famine, with nearly two million residents losing food security due to Israeli restrictions on humanitarian aid, Anadolu Agency reported. Ismail Thawabteh, head of Gaza’s government media office, stated that the closure of crossings has led to an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
All markets have reportedly run out of basic food supplies, and many bakeries have ceased operations due to a ban on fuel imports, drastically reducing bread availability. The World Food Program (WFP) noted that it has been unable to transport food into Gaza since March 2, following the closure of all border points.
Additionally, dozens of water wells have stopped functioning, worsening the water crisis. Thawabteh warned that life in Gaza is at risk of total collapse if Israeli aggression continues. Since Tuesday, renewed Israeli airstrikes have resulted in at least 436 deaths and over 670 injuries, further exacerbating the dire situation.
