12,000 Palestinians Displaced Amid Israeli Assault in Tulkarem Camp

An Israeli military operation in the Tulkarem refugee camp in the northern West Bank has resulted in the displacement of 12,000 Palestinian residents, Muslim Mirror reported. Deputy Governor Faisal Salama reported that the Israeli forces are continuing their assault, displacing residents “at gunpoint.”

Since last month, Israeli forces have destroyed 40 buildings, comprising around 100 residential apartments, and have burned 10 houses while demolishing nearly 300 shops in the camp. Salama accused the Israeli army of aiming to achieve political objectives and reshape the demographic landscape of the area.

The military operations in the northern West Bank, ongoing since January 21, have reportedly resulted in over 61 Palestinian deaths and significant displacement. Tensions remain high across the occupied West Bank, where the Health Ministry reports that at least 923 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 7,000 injured due to actions by the Israeli army and illegal settlers since the onset of the Gaza war on October 7, 2023.

Meanwhile, five newborn babies froze to death in the Gaza Strip amid cold weather in the war-torn enclave, a Palestinian doctor said on Tuesday. The humanitarian crisis continues to deepen in the Gaza strip as Israeli operations seem ceaseless despite international pressure.
