Over 2,100 Israeli Assaults Reported in Occupied West Bank in January

The Israeli army and illegal settlers conducted a total of 2,161 assaults in the occupied West Bank in January 2025, according to the official Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, Anadolu Agency reported. Of these, 1,786 assaults were attributed to the Israeli army, while 375 were carried out by illegal settlers.

The reported assaults included armed attacks on Palestinian villages, land expropriation, field executions, and property destruction. Moayad Shaaban, head of the commission, noted that settlers attempted to establish 10 new outposts in areas such as Tubas, Nablus, and Bethlehem. Additionally, the Israeli army seized 262 dunams (approximately 65 acres) of Palestinian land and demolished 126 structures, including 74 homes and 29 agricultural facilities.

Shaaban criticized the Israeli occupation for creating unbearable living conditions for Palestinians. This escalation follows a ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal in Gaza on January 19, after a prolonged conflict that has resulted in significant casualties and destruction.
