Deadly Airstrikes Hit Gaza, Leaving Over 90 Dead and 300 Injured

In a devastating attack on Saturday, Israeli forces carried out airstrikes on the Al Mawasi area of Gaza, killing at least 90 people and injuring around 300 more, according to the Gaza health ministry.

The UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed shock and sadness over the loss of life, while Israeli officials claimed the strike targeted top Hamas military commanders. However, Hamas denied this, calling it a “senseless massacre” of civilians.

The UN stated the attack occurred in a densely populated area designated as a humanitarian zone, underscoring that “nowhere is safe in Gaza.” Multiple hospitals are working to treat the influx of severely injured patients, with the WHO and other aid groups providing emergency support and supplies.

The Secretary-General has called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, urging all hostages to be released without delay.
