Three Shi’a Muslims Martyred in Boko Haram Attack in Yobe State

In a tragic incident, three Shi’a Muslims were martyred when suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked the Fudiyya Islamic school in Gaidam Local Government Area, Yobe State, Nigeria.

According to Shiite News, the assault occurred on Friday, as terrorists opened fire sporadically before targeting the congregation. The victims, identified as Muhammad Saleh, Ahmad Abdulrahman, and Abdullahi Adam, were attending a religious gathering at the school.

A local resident, Mahdi Ibrahim, reported that another individual survived the attack and was subsequently transported to a hospital in Nguru town for treatment. This incident underscores the ongoing violence faced by the Shi’a community in Nigeria, which has been repeatedly targeted by Boko Haram. Notably, in 2014, a suicide bomber from the group killed 15 worshippers during a Shi’a religious ceremony in Potiskum, highlighting the persistent threat to this minority group in the region.
