A new Islamic educational institution, the Darul Hadith Institute of Islamic Sciences, has officially opened in Grozny, according to RIA Novosti.
The institute is named after Marem Akhilgova, the mother of Russian businessman Mikhail Gutseriev.
Construction of the institute was financed by the Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov Regional Public Foundation.
According to the press service of the republic’s Muftiate, construction began in January 2025.
The institute will offer programs aimed at training theologians, scholars, teachers and religious leaders, with instruction focused on Islamic law, the Arabic language, Quranic studies and Hadith studies.
Officials said the institution is intended to serve as a multidisciplinary educational center promoting traditional Muslim values and advanced study of Islamic disciplines.
At the opening ceremony, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said naming the institute after Akhilgova carried symbolic significance.
He also praised Gutseriev for supporting the policies of his father, Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov, during difficult years in the republic’s history.
The institute is expected to become one of the region’s centers for higher Islamic education and religious scholarship.
