U.S. Offers Cash, Travel Incentives to Undocumented Migrants Who Voluntarily Leave

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced a temporary incentive program offering up to $3,000 in cash and free round‑trip airfare to undocumented migrants who voluntarily depart the United States by December 31, 2025.
According to reports seen by Shia Waves Agency, to participate, migrants must register their departure plans through the government’s CBP Home mobile application.
The incentive, part of a seasonal “exit bonus” campaign, aims to encourage undocumented residents to leave the country voluntarily rather than face formal detention and removal. Participants may also be eligible for waivers of certain civil penalties related to their immigration status, according to reports.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem described the measure as a cost‑effective way to reduce the number of undocumented migrants in the country, noting that voluntary departures tend to be less expensive for the government than traditional enforcement operations.
The program builds on earlier self‑deportation efforts and is part of broader immigration policy changes under the current administration.
