World Organization for Non-Violence Calls for Urgent Action to Protect Civilians, Halt Bloodshed

The World Organization for Non‑Violence (FreeMuslim Inc.) has issued an urgent humanitarian and legal appeal calling for an immediate halt to bloodshed and the protection of civilians amid escalating military operations affecting civilian areas in Iran.

More details in the following report:

In a statement released to media outlets, the organization said it is closely monitoring the situation with “deep sorrow and grave concern,” warning that the intensifying violence has resulted in civilian casualties and humanitarian suffering. The group described the attacks as serious violations of moral and religious principles as well as international norms that safeguard human life.

The organization strongly condemned an incident in which an educational institution in Iran was reportedly targeted, resulting in the deaths of several schoolchildren. It stated that attacks on schools and the killing of children constitute a grave moral failure and may amount to war crimes, emphasizing that international humanitarian law strictly prohibits assaults on civilian infrastructure.

According to the statement, such acts represent a clear breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which provides protections for civilians during armed conflict. The organization also said the attacks contradict the principles outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, particularly the right to life and personal security.

The group called for the immediate and unconditional cessation of military operations and urged all parties to prioritize dialogue and peaceful solutions. It also demanded an independent international investigation under the supervision of the United Nations to determine the circumstances surrounding the reported school attack and to hold those responsible accountable.

Additionally, the organization urged the international community and human rights groups to act swiftly to protect civilian institutions, ensure the safety of educational facilities, and facilitate urgent medical and humanitarian aid for affected civilians, especially women and children.

The statement concluded by stressing that violence only perpetuates further violence and that peaceful engagement remains the only viable path to safeguarding human dignity and ensuring the security of societies. It warned that the deaths of innocent children place a historic responsibility on the international community to stop the humanitarian crisis and uphold the fundamental right to life.
