Justice For All Responds to USCIRF’s Report on Uyghur Human Rights Violations

Justice For All’s Save Uyghur Campaign has praised the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) for its 2025 report highlighting ongoing human rights violations against Uyghur Muslims in East Turkistan, also known as the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, the organization’s website reported.

The report emphasizes that under General Secretary Xi Jinping, religious freedom conditions in China remain among the worst globally. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) continues its “sinicization of religion” policy, demanding total allegiance from religious groups. This policy has intensified restrictions on Uyghur Muslims, utilizing high-tech surveillance and disinformation to suppress dissent. The recent death of Imam Abidin Damollam, imprisoned for alleged “religious extremism,” illustrates the regime’s brutality towards authentic religious practice.
Justice For All urged the U.S. government to redesignate China as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) and to impose sanctions on officials responsible for religious oppression. They also called for collaboration with global partners to impose stricter controls on China’s technological abuses that facilitate these violations.
Ignoring these severe abuses undermines global human rights standards, making it crucial for the U.S. to address these atrocities and protect the religious freedom of Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims in East Turkistan.
