Over 1,000 March in Geneva to Demand Cessation of Gaza Genocide

Over 1,000 demonstrators marched peacefully through Geneva on Saturday, calling for an end to what they termed the genocide in Gaza, Anadolu Agency reported. The protest, dubbed the “Big Geneva Protest,” began at Lake Geneva and concluded outside the UN Geneva Office, urging international action amid the worsening humanitarian crisis in the enclave.

Protesters chanted slogans such as “Free Palestine” and “End genocide,” while waving Palestinian flags and carrying banners condemning Israeli attacks on civilians and healthcare facilities. They demanded increased humanitarian aid during the ongoing ceasefire and called for a global boycott of Israel.

Demonstrators criticized Switzerland for its perceived silence on Israel’s ceasefire violations, stating, “Switzerland’s silence is complicity in the tragedy of Gaza.” Concerns were raised about escalating violence in the West Bank, with participants warning that the situation could deteriorate further under the current Israeli government. The protest highlighted urgent calls for accountability and respect for international law regarding health care access.
